Your students ship real work in real crews

After the course they know the tools — but they've never worked in a team. Tolokit puts them in crews with designers, developers, QA and managers, gives every crew a brief and a deadline, and shows you how each one is doing.

Why a cohort

The part of the course that's hard to teach in a classroom

  • Team experience

Students split work with other roles, agree on a plan and hand in on a date — the thing employers ask about first.

  • A project for the CV

Every crew ships something real and gets a public project page with the whole crew credited.

  • Less work for mentors

We form the crews, send the reminders and chase quiet members. Mentors step in where the report shows it's needed.

How it works

One round, four steps

  1. 01

    We agree on the round

Which briefs fit your course, one deadline for every crew, the language crews work in and when sign-up closes.

  2. 02

Students sign up with one link

They pick their role and join with your code. Nobody from outside gets into your round.

  3. 03

Every crew is formed at once

Not first come, first served: we build all crews together so roles are mixed and nobody is left over.

  4. 04

    You follow the report

One private link with every crew: stage, steps done, check-ins, who went quiet and what was shipped.

What you see

Every crew on one page

The report updates itself while the round runs. No spreadsheets, no asking students for status.

  • Signed up, in a crew, working, shipped, dropped
  • Each crew's brief, deadline and steps done
  • Last check-in and members who went quiet
  • Students who are still without a crew

Questions

Before you ask

Which students can take part?

Anyone in one of 40+ roles: development, UI/UX and graphic design, QA, product and project management, analysis, marketing, content, video and more. A crew mixes them the way a real team does.

How much time does it take?

About an hour a day. Deadlines come from the hours a brief needs, so a crew has 1 to 5 weeks.

What if a student drops out?

Before the start everyone confirms they're in; a seat nobody confirms is freed. The crew can invite someone to an empty seat with a link, and the report shows who went quiet.

Which language do crews work in?

The one you choose for the round — English or Ukrainian, for example. Every crew in the cohort works in it.

What do you see about students?

Names, roles and progress. Never their contacts or emails — those stay between the members of a crew.
